Welcome to CANLearn, the Change Agents' Network online programme that supports further and higher education students and staff working as change agents. This online course comprises of two modules. The first module (ICL01) is assessed by a series of online quizzes. The second module (ICL02) is assessed on the basis of a reflective portfolio. Both modules are assessed on a pass or fail basis.
The CAN Network has undertaken valuable work in analysing and giving guidance on models for student engagement with technology. This has led to the formation of a range of resources and effective practice guides for institutions wishing to set up and implement staff-student partnerships, including case studies, effective practice points/top tips, a database of sector resources and a Student Partnerships Toolkit to support institutions in change processes associated with student partnership initiatives, based on the University of Ulster’s Viewpoints change framework.
The first run of the SEDA course was March 2015 and the second running will start on the 19th October 2015. This award supports staff and students working in partnership on technology-related curriculum innovation projects in UK further education and skills and higher education. It supports those about to undertake change agency work as well as those who have already started and it can also help staff and students to gain recognition for previous work. The course is open to FE and HE.
A network supported by Jisc of staff and students who are working in partnership to support curriculum enhancement and innovation with technology. What we do:
ICL01 will require up to 18 hours of study to complete. Whilst this module is mostly self-paced, there will be a 'core timetable' of engagement for participants who prefer more structure. The module leader will participate in discussions and activities at set times, and will schedule their availability using the module calendar announcements.
Under the guidance of the module tutor, the second course (ICL02) will be informed by your current work as a change agent and will culminate in the production of a portfolio. ICL02 will require up to 30 hours of effort for the portfolio (in addition to the time you will spend on the change work itself). The CANLearn programme is currently only available to registered students and staff at UK FE/HE institutions.
